Mascots, Illustrations and 25 beautiful samples
I bet you have seen many impressive logos with nice illustrations like birds, animals, people and many other various things. It seems that they had been done by spending LOTS of time and this job requires much effort. I thought designers had been using special tools like a pad in order to create logo with illustration. I agree, you have to work on many details, shapes and shadows (not always) but that’s not always as hard as you imagine! I’ve been browsing through design contests in the past and never entered any that needs an illustration in the logo. I even rejected private works that require an illustration! And I regret that now. I thought it was not for me and I ccould not do such a thing. The designs submitted for the contests were really awesome and I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything like that. You might think the same about you but don’t hurry to judge! I heard about pople making sketches on a paper some time ago. They make many concepts, then scan them and open with Illustrator. I really thought it was a completely waste of time as it takes so much time ...

Win a contest
One of the designer’s earning ways on the internet is logo contests. People like contests because anyone can enter them and for the first time they think there is a really high chance to win a nice prize and it becomes exciting. Actually it doesn’t last for long. Imagine, you participate in 30 contests and win nothing! What would you do? I guess you would stop entering design contests regulary. That’s because you start losing your confidence. But I am sure you will enter new contests again and again when you win your first or other prize! The big thing is: the logo and other graphic you do has to appeal to yourself! Some time ago I have been entering these contests. I read the description, see other entries and then open Illustrator. Then I started making a logo and it mostly took me like 2 hours of work. But suddenly I started to criticize it! I was like: “It doesn’t look that good”, “Ouch, my eyeballs!”, “What is this? Does that have any link with the company? NO!!!”. After some monologue I submitted my artwork. And guess what.. I haven’t won any contest with ...

What logo Not to buy
Do you run a contest? Can’t decide on what logo to choose? Or maybe you ordered a logo and someone let’s you choose from the concepts? Do you see an eye-catchy logo but still in doubts whether buy it or not? Well, there are some rules for a logo to see if it is good for you. Firstly, even if the logo is very simple it has to have a link with the company. Many of the logos might be done only just to look good, but there is no benefit for you to have only a good looking logo which is not even relative to your company? Think of what will people think when they see your logo for the first time and have no clue what is your company doing. Then, look at the logo carefully. Check it’s details and see if they are well done. I mean look if the logo looks professional. Sometimes people buy a cheap logo with a cool concept. Well, you might think there is nothing wrong but they are mostly made by a beginner which doesn’t know some of the techniques and make the logo not to look ...
Logo parameters
As you may have already known, logos and other items are being used for various purposes: print, web and other. People join design contests and submit designs or they get an order to make a design. Before starting making a logo, the customer should mention where they are going to use their future logo. If not, then the designer has to ask him about that. It actually means a lot - it gives you a reference of what kind of logo it has to be. Logo for a web The first thing what most of the logos are used for is a website. So if a logo has to be made for a website only, then you have lots of possibilities. You can make any kind of logo you want - it could be a plain solid colour logo or a 3d logo, which is full of various effects, has reflection, dozens of gradients, shadows and whatever you like because it's a website and there are like no limits for a logo. You can see this logo as an example.
25 Realistic Illustrator artwork
Many of us think that the Illustrator is used to create logos mainly. You can also create illustrations, business cards and other. But a really amazing thing is that some people create Realistic designs of real things with so many details using Illustrator! They look like real photos but they have been made manually with human's talents! While designers spend several hours making logos, these people spend like 20, 40, 80 or even more hours to make such designs. It's hard to imagine how patient and talented you have to be. It also requires many years of experience. Since I make logo designs only, these artworks seem pretty incredible for me because logos aren't that detailed. It is very easy to impress any graphic designer with these images because they can easily rate the time spent working on such things. Some of you might think it is a waste of time and others will sit back and admire the images made with a huge effort. And now, take a VERY CLOSE look at them, see how many details they have! 25 Illustrator artworks 1.
